Atlanta Braves pitcher Tom Glavine is expected to be ready for spring training after undergoing surgery on his injured left elbow.

The 42-year-old left-hander also had arthroscopic surgery on his shoulder Thursday, and the Braves said he should be able to start a throwing program by January.

Glavine isn't under contract for next season and has said he only wants to pitch for Atlanta, close to his home and family.

Dr. James Andrews performed both procedures in Birmingham, Ala.

Bin Laden lashes out at Arab leaders in new msg.

Osama bin Laden released a new message on Sunday that accused Arab leaders of sacrificing the Palestinians and called on Muslim militants in Egypt to help break the blockade of Gaza.

"Those (Arab) kings and leaders sacrificed Palestine and Al-Aqsa to keep their crowns. ... But we will not be relieved of this responsibility," bin Laden said in the audio message posted on an Islamic militant Web site where al-Qaida leaders have issued past statements.
