On February 17, 2009, the Stimulus Bill (The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009) was signed into law. It made some significant changes to the energy efficiency tax credits available to homeowners.A significant, immediate benefit of the ARRA is the Energy-Efficient Home Improvements Tax Credit. This tax credit, equal to up to 30% of all material costs incurred by the tax up to 30% of all material costs incurred by the tax payer, up to $1500, for energy-efficient home improvements, such as installation of energy-efficient windows, doors and insulation, is being made available now to those who qualify. We highly recommend that you share this information with your customers so that they can save money on their taxes while they improve the energy-efficiency of their homes. Tax Credits Available For Home ImprovementsAll Homeowners. Must be for taxpayer's principal residence.Existing homes only. No new construction. Property must be ready and available for use between 1/1/09 and 12/31/10 2009 and 12/31/2010. Property must be ready and available for use between 1/1/09 and 12/31/10. Maximum tax credit is 30% of all material costs incurred up to $1500 in 2009 & 2010.
